At the end of the training, the participant will be able to:
Describing System z's use of z/Architecture
Identify System z servers and their main components
Name the functional groups and basic elements of z/OS
Describe the concept of virtual storage and its use in z/OS
Execute z/OS commands with the correct syntax
Identify z/OS display commands that can be used to determine device status...
Describe the use of VARY and CONFIG z/OS operator commands
Interpreting the results of z/OS commands
Identify the differences between JES2 and JES3
Describing the use of JES2
Describe SPOOLs and control point data sets
Master cold start, hot start and partial restart processes
Use commands to control resources and display task status
Describe the main components and functions of the z/OS environment

Intended audience
IT staff with little or no theoretical knowledge of z/OS and little or no general practical IS experience.

Prerequisites
Avoir suivi la formation "An Introduction to the z/OS Environment (ES050)".

Teaching methods
Training in French. Official course material in digital format and in English. Good understanding of written English.
