Prerequisites
Advanced system administration experience with AIX 6 or AIX 7. Knowledge of TCP/IP strongly recommended. Logical partition administration skills on Power Systems servers.

1 Module 1
- Introduction to partitioning.
- Processor virtualization.
Hands-on work
Overview of power system documentation. Processor virtualization configuration.
2 Module 2
- Integrated virtual Ethernet.
- Virtual Ethernet adapter.
- Part 1: Virtual I/O Server and virtual peripherals.
Hands-on work
Integrated virtual Ethernet configuration. Virtual Ethernet adapter configuration. Topic 1: Configuration of Virtual I/O Server and client partitions.
3 Module 3
- Part 2: Virtual I/O Server and virtual peripherals.
- Virtual network configurations with dual VIOS.
Hands-on work
Topic 2: Configuration of Virtual I/O Server and client partitions. Configuration of shared Ethernet adapter failover.
4 Module 4
- Virtual SCSI configurations with dual VIOS.
- Virtualization of N_Port ID.
- Migration from physical to virtual storage.
Hands-on work
Configuration of two VIOS servers with MPIO in the client partition. Virtual Fibre Channel adapter configuration.
5 Module 5
- HMC service management.
- Advanced maintenance of PowerVM systems.
Hands-on work
Manage service events. PowerVM system maintenance. Configuration of a file-backed virtual disk and virtual media repository (optional).

At the end of each training course, ITTCERT provides participants with a course evaluation questionnaire, which is then analysed by our teaching teams. Participants also complete an official evaluation of the publisher.
An attendance sheet for each half-day of attendance is provided at the end of the training course, along with a certificate of completion if the participant has attended the entire session.
