With this training course, you will learn how to successfully implement and optimize Information Management System (IMS) databases with IMS logical relations. You'll examine the various pointer options in detail and carry out a wide range of practical tasks throughout the course.


Teaching objectives
At the end of the training, the participant will be able to:
Code DBDs and PSBs for databases involved in logical relationships
Use IMS utilities to load and reorganize logically linked databases
Select logical relationship update rules based on application processing requirements
Identify DBD coding parameters that are critical to the performance of logically linked databases
Interpret logical relationship implementation results using reports provided by IMS Monitor

Intended audience
People responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining or tuning IMS databases using logical relationships.

Prerequisites
