🇺🇸 Alternative US: First congratulate («Great job!»), then suggest an improvement.

3. Contradicting your manager in public

😬 Perception: lack of loyalty or disrespect.

🇬🇧 Alternative UK: «Let's talk about this offline.»

🇺🇸 Alternative US: express your disagreement in private, with a constructive solution.

😬 Perception: unprofessional, lack of respect.

🇬🇧 🇺🇸 Alternative UK & US : arrive 5 minutes early and give immediate notice if you are going to be late.

5. Having a poorly calibrated sense of humour

🇬🇧 Alternative UK: subtle humour, light-hearted self-mockery.

🇺🇸 Alternative US: positive humour, based on personal anecdotes.

6. Overly modest or negative presentations

❌ French gaffe: insisting on flaws («We still have a lot of problems...»).

😬 Perception: lack of confidence, lack of vision.

🇬🇧 Alternative UK: highlight collective progress and areas for improvement.

🇺🇸 Alternative US: enthusiastically demonstrate the positive impact.

7. Meetings too long and too theoretical

😬 Perception: inefficient, waste of time.

🇬🇧 Alternative UK: respect the agenda, seek consensus.

🇺🇸 Alternative US: decide quickly, with a concrete action plan.
