The 2-Ton Workshop

Taking Action for the Ecological Transition Through a Collaborative Simulation

New course

The 2tonnes workshop invites participants to experience the ecological transition rather than just hear about it: working in teams, participants test different courses of action, measure their impact on a carbon footprint, and discover—through trial and error—what is truly possible.

The 2tonnes workshop invites participants to experience the ecological transition rather than just hear about it: working in teams, participants test different courses of action, measure their impact on a carbon footprint, and discover—through trial and error—what is truly possible.

Teaching objectives
At the end of the training, the participant will be able to:
Explain the challenges of the ecological transition using a systems-based approach (planetary boundaries, social challenges).
Define the key concepts: carbon footprint, Paris Agreement, Donut Theory.
Distinguish between the types of action (energy conservation, efficiency, decarbonization) and the stakeholders involved (individuals, the government, businesses).
Estimate the orders of magnitude of individual and collective emissions and compare the reduction potential of the various measures.
Analyze the impact of their individual and collective choices on their carbon footprint through a simulation
Prioritize courses of action, taking into account their feasibility and their impacts on biodiversity, social issues, resources, and adaptation
Apply a methodology for defining an environmental strategy
Commit to specific personal actions and explain their choices within a group setting.
