Why do we hear so much about agile approaches? What does it involve? What impact does it have on the way a team operates and, more broadly, on the way a company operates? Before adopting agile work methods and management, and carrying out your first project based on this new approach, you need to familiarize yourself with its concepts. This course will introduce you to the culture and vocabulary of agility, so that you can put them to work on a project.

Before adopting agile work methods and management, and carrying out your first project based on this new approach, you need to familiarize yourself with its concepts. This course will introduce you to the culture and vocabulary of agility, so that you can put them to work on a project.


Teaching objectives
At the end of the training, the participant will be able to:
Understanding the cultural rupture represented by Agility
Have a basic knowledge of Agile project management
Be comfortable with the concepts specific to the approach (iteration, sprint, release...)
Master the steps of the method and know how to avoid its pitfalls
Be able to choose the most appropriate method for your context from among existing methods
Understand how to manage the processes linked to the method and steer the process back and forth from the change line

All employees involved in an Agile project within their company, especially project leaders, Agile managers, consultants...

Prerequisites
Desired experience in project management or occasional participation in a project as part of his/her duties. Sufficient level of English to understand the terms used in the job.

Identify the most appropriate approach to project constraints.

Carrying out a project using an Agile approach

  • Definition of product vision and value.
  • Lean Startup and MVP.
  • How do you measure value?
  • Building a requirements backlog.
  • Writing user stories, estimation in points.
  • The agile team and how it operates on a day-to-day basis. Roles and interactions with stakeholders.
  • Progress monitoring. Team decision-making.
  • Agile ceremonies: Daily Scrum, Sprint Planning Meeting, Sprint Review, etc.
  • Examples of practices encountered in agile projects.
  • Anomaly management.
  • Continuous integration. TDD.
  • Refactoring, pair programming.
Exercise
Project simulation: User Story writing workshop, Product Backlog Refinement. Describe a User Story using different methods. Starting from a need, identify, describe and prioritize US by [[business value]]. Identify agile roles and their responsibilities.

Exercise
Simulation of a PI schedule to understand the advantages of multi-team synchronization.

Simulation of stakeholder interaction to include them in the agile process.
