Course schedule
1 Understanding, adjusting and mastering your camera
- Choosing the image format: JPEG or RAW? Their advantages and disadvantages.
- Switch from "automatic" to "creative" and "manual" modes.
- Understand the influence of settings (diaphragm, shutter speed, ISO sensitivity) on the image.
- Control color and white balance.
- How to choose your equipment.
- Know the complete photo production chain: preparation, equipment, shooting, development.
Hands-on work
Test different camera settings and visualize their influence on the final photo.
2 Composing an image
- Understand the importance of foregrounds and backgrounds in the composition of an image.
- Practice diving, neutral position and low angle. Photographing with the camera on the ground and off-camera.
- The frame within the frame: creating a rich, original image.
Hands-on work
Creative and professional composition exercises. Compositions for portraits, architecture, landscapes, corporate images...
3 Mastering light, natural lighting and flash
- Use different types of light: soft, hard, natural or artificial.
- Control light with a reportage flash (cobra flash).
- Learn about studio lighting.
Hands-on work
Exercises in controlling light in different situations: lack of light, backlighting, etc.
4 Developing images with Adobe Lightroom
- Discover the software and its various modules.
- Import and organize photos.
- Develop your photos, using basic and advanced settings.
- Crop, remove defects, treat grain, switch to black and white...
- Export photos, add watermarks.
- Understand the differences between processing a photo for web or print publication.
Hands-on work
Photo development, individually and in groups, debriefing.

The experts leading the training are specialists in the covered subjects. They have been approved by our instructional teams for both their professional knowledge and their teaching ability, for each course they teach. They have at least five to ten years of experience in their field and hold (or have held) decision-making positions in companies.
ASSESSMENT TERMS
The trainer evaluates each participant’s academic progress throughout the training using multiple choice, scenarios, hands-on work and more.
Participants also complete a placement test before and after the course to measure the skills they’ve developed.
TERMS AND DEADLINES
Registration must be completed 24 hours before the start of the training.
