  • Hadoop architecture.
  • Description of the main components of the Hadoop platform.
  • MapReduce reminder.

  • HBase terminology: table, region, row, column family, cell, namespace, etc.
  • The 3 main components: HMaster, Region Server, Zookeeper.
  • Zookeeper role.
  • Data schema. Different schema scenarios.

  • Installation and configuration in conf/hbase-site.xml.
  • Distributed installation.
  • HBase Shell connection management.
Hands-on work
Installation, configuration, connection tests and queries from the integrated http server.

Basis of use: Shell

  • The different interfaces available.
  • Basic commands, syntax, variables, data manipulation: create, list, put, scan, get.
  • Script programming.
  • Enable/disable a table, delete a table: enable/disable, drop, etc.
  • Filter principles. Implementation of search filters.
  • Table parameters.
  • Namespaces.
Hands-on work
Write Hase Shell scripts.

HBase cluster

  • Reminders: Hadoop cluster preparation and configuration, HDFS operating principles.
  • Distributed operation.
  • Demon-independent operation (HMaster, HRegionServer, Zookeeper).
  • Implementation with HDFS in a distributed environment.
Hands-on work
Implementation of splits in distributed tables.

  • APIs (REST, Avro, Thrift, Java, Ruby, Spark, etc.).
