Course schedule
1 Understanding the spirit of Lean
- Definition of Lean Management.
- The Lean approach in the historical context of management.
- Lean Management philosophy.
- The principle of added value for the customer.
Exercise
Lean questionnaire.
2 Declinations of Lean Management
- Lean production (or lean manufacturing) for optimizing production sectors.
- Optimize new product development with Lean Development.
- Lean Administration to optimize other non-productive sectors.
3 The main tools used by Lean management
- The 5S approach to eliminating the causes of many small problems that lead to inefficiencies.
- VSM (Value Stream Mapping) to define the challenges and priority actions of an implementation plan.
- Visualization for real-time transparency of results, to improve responsiveness to problems.
Exercise
5S simulation game to illustrate the different stages of a 5S worksite in a fun way.
4 Lean development
- Lean development objectives.
- Customer satisfaction.
- Optimizing new product development processes.
- Tools: Design to Cost and standardization.

Example of Lean development implementation.
5 Lean Production
- The main aim of Lean Production (Manufacturing).
- The company's productive resources.
- Tools: Taktime, SMED, TPM, Flow Hoshin, Kanban, UAP/UET.
Exercise
The "SMED" simulation game is a fun way of illustrating the different stages of a SMED project.
6 Lean Administration
- Objectives and approach.
- Administrative processes.
- The VSM tool applied to information flow.

Example of VSM tool application.
7 Conclusion
- The Lean approach: a cultural revolution that requires a rethink of managerial relations.
- The strengths and limitations of the Lean approach.
- An essential step in the evolution towards new emerging management methods.

PREREQUISITES

TRAINER QUALIFICATIONS
The experts leading the training are specialists in the covered subjects. They have been approved by our instructional teams for both their professional knowledge and their teaching ability, for each course they teach. They have at least five to ten years of experience in their field and hold (or have held) decision-making positions in companies.
ASSESSMENT TERMS
The trainer evaluates each participant’s academic progress throughout the training using multiple choice, scenarios, hands-on work and more.
Participants also complete a placement test before and after the course to measure the skills they’ve developed.
TERMS AND DEADLINES
Registration must be completed 24 hours before the start of the training.
