Vous apprendrez également comment installer des services d'accès distants (FTP).

At the end of the training, the participant will be able to:
Installing and configuring an Apache server
Setting up a DNS server with Bind
Integrating an Apache server with a Tomcat application server
Setting up a mail server
Implement remote access services

Intended audience
Web server administrators, operators, integrators or technical architects.

Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of Linux/Unix administration and networks (mainly TCP/IP).

Introduction

  • Overview of services and protocols.
  • TCP/IP configuration of a Unix or Linux server.

Setting up DNS servers with Bind

  • DNS concepts and terminology.
  • Compiling and installing the Bind software.
  • DNS client configuration.
  • Details of RR records (SOA, NS, A).
  • Slave server configuration.
Hands-on work
Bind software installation. Implement DNS server "cache only", primary and secondary DNS servers. Configure rndc command. Add a machine to the domain.

Setting up HTTP servers with Apache

  • Apache modules. Installation from source.
  • The essential directives in the "httpd.conf" file.
  • User authentication.
  • Trace file management, statistics tools.
  • Virtual host implementation.
  • SSL protocol, certificates, secure dialog in "https".
Hands-on work
Install Apache software from source archive. Secure directory access. Implement a personal site with authentication, virtual hosts and an SSL host " https ".

Dynamic Web

  • CGI programs (implementation, troubleshooting, security).
  • PHP language (integrated into Apache).

Java application servers: Tomcat

  • Tomcat presentation and architecture.
  • Setting up Apache-Tomcat collaboration.
  • Servlet and JSP access tests.
Hands-on work
Program execution via CGI. PHP integration. Installation of Java and mod_jk connector. Connection validation with Tomcat.

Messaging

  • Introduction and terminology: MUA, MTA, MDA.
  • Protocols (SMTP, MIME, POP, IMAP).
  • DNS configuration required.
  • Overview of available MTAs (Sendmail, Postfix).
  • Setting up a simple intranet messaging system.
Hands-on work
Setting up an intranet SMTP server.

  • Setting up an anonymous FTP server.
  • Virtual hosts.

Safety issues

  • Data protection.
  • Restrict access at network level.
  • Tools on the market.
