Teaching objectives
At the end of the training, the participant will be able to:
Understand the basic concepts and components of data protection
Understanding the role and missions of the Data Protection Officer (DPO)
Understanding the content of general data protection regulations
Understand the concepts, approaches, methods and techniques for effective data protection

Intended audience
Data Protection Officer (DPO), Délégué à la Protection des Données (DPD), any person whose mission is to ensure compliance with personal data protection within their organization.

Prerequisites
No special knowledge required. Two years of professional experience are required by the CNIL to pass the exam at the end of the 35-hour training course.

Certification
Official certification exam, certified in accordance with the Commission Nationale de l'Informatique et des Libertés (CNIL) DPO skills certification reference framework. The 3-hour exam is taken offline.

  • Introduction to data protection.
  • RGPD (General Data Protection Regulation).
  • The DPO (Data Protection Officer).

Introduction to the RGPD and privacy principles

  • Regulatory framework.
  • Privacy Fundamentals.
  • General Data Protection Regulation.
  • EU bodies: international working group on data protection in telecommunications.
  • Supervisory authorities, Article 29 group, etc.
  • Legislation: legal framework, consent, special categories of personal data.

Data Protection Officer (DPO)

  • Appointment, function, responsibilities, missions.
  • Internet governance, cyberrights and international data transfers.
  • Legislation and systems around the world.
  • Transversality of the DPO within the company: collaboration with legal, marketing, IT, purchasing teams, etc.

Risk management and information security

  • Risk management: concepts, risk analysis, methodologies and standards, monitoring.
  • Information systems and security: functions and responsibilities, training and awareness, classification.
  • Access, exposure, cryptography and digital signatures.
  • Mobile security and big data (concept, NoSQL and applications).
  • Internet of Things: concepts, models and principles, applications, threats.
  • New technologies, new threats.

Incidents and protection

  • Management: information security incident, event.
  • Continuity of activities: recovery, time, strategy.
  • Data protection impact assessment.
  • Life cycle of personal data.

Examination content

  • French exam consisting of 100 questions to be answered in 3 hours.
  • Closed-book" procedure (no support).
  • Passed if at least 75% of answers are correct, out of at least 50% of answers in each of the three areas.
  • 3 areas covered by the exam.
  • Area 1: General data protection regulations and compliance measures.
  • Area 2: Responsibility.
  • Area 3: Technical and organizational measures for data security and risk management.
