Kotlin syntax and basic concepts

  • Basic syntax, conventions.
  • Code organization, types, packages, control flows.
  • Classes and objects. Functions.
  • Syntax complements.
Hands-on work
Creation of a "Hello World" program, using Kotlin JVM. Write some algorithms and classes.

The Android platform

  • Android architecture, Linux. History and features.
  • Target terminals.
Hands-on work
Discover Google Console Developer resources.

Android development with Android Studio

  • Basic concepts. The development cycle.
  • The framework's basic classes.
  • The project in Android Studio.
  • SDK emulator. SDK tools, SDK manager, AVD manager.
  • Using Android Studio tools: debugger, profiler, etc.
  • Manifest parameters.
  • Application production and publication.
Hands-on work
Handling and demonstration of Android Studio/IntelliJ.

  • General layout organization.
  • Layout examples: LinearLayout, RelativeLayout, ConstraintLayout.
  • Resources: drawables, string. Styles.
  • Event management.

The part of the course that made me choose it wasn’t covered due to a lack of time. It might be worth providing a basic project and a quick tutorial to ensure that the software is properly installed and working, to avoid wasting time. In short, it was a bit of a rush during the course and we’ll have to set aside several days on our own to finish the course independently. We therefore lose the point of a course, as there’s no need for a course to

A brilliant trainer who gave us loads of tips, key insights, tools and anecdotes. But the content is too dense; there aren’t even enough breaks. The training course should be split into two parts and/or made longer.
