The content is interesting; however, I think that from the summary alone, it’s not immediately clear which topics will be covered in depth. For example, as an Oracle DBA, there are concepts I’m familiar with that we’ve spent time on (tablespaces, statistics, etc.). The problem isn’t the content of the course, but rather the clarity of what it covers and the expectations one might have of it. For instance, I thought the section on backup and restore would be more detailed.

The course content would be interesting if it were covered in full; the course cannot be completed in three days (unlike the Level 1 course); the resources (PDFs, exercises, answer keys, etc.) are good, but there is absolutely no time to make the most of them. Whenever we ask to cover a specific topic, the response is ‘Oh no, that’s in another course’, even though we’re all keen to cover it.

The training programme seems particularly intensive for a three-day course. Extending it to four or five days would allow for a more in-depth exploration of the topics and make the learning experience more comfortable.

Over the course of the two days (out of the three scheduled), I found the content interesting, although we only covered half of the course material. I think we didn’t get enough practical work. Our trainer knew his subject, but when we asked him questions, his answers were usually either that we needed to attend another training course, or a response accompanied by long digressions, which could be quite frustrating. I do hope, however, that he will b

The training course could not be completed, as the trainer unfortunately injured himself on arrival on the morning of the third day. In the part that was covered, we managed less than half the course content in two days. It was too slow-paced and there were too many digressions. This meant that the whole section of the course that interested me was left out. The first part wasn’t relevant to me anyway. It was also a shame to get stuck on Linux; I only work on Windows and don’t know Linux (this p

It was a very interesting course, but unfortunately we only had two days of training and covered less than half of the course material (125 pages out of 270). From a professional point of view, I would have really liked to have covered the entire course. I hope the trainer is feeling better following his fall.

This course was not at all suited to what I consider to be basic PostgreSQL administration in a production IT environment. We didn’t cover any scenarios involving the recovery from complicated situations (server overload, unexpected shutdowns, etc.), which, for me, should have been the main focus of the course. The PostgreSQL documentation is very comprehensive. What I needed was advice on how to apply it to a real-world context.

Theory is given greater priority than practice, which does not help in understanding certain elements. What's more, some elements are pushed to a high technical level, while others are skimmed over or even ignored. The most striking example is the subject of backups. I understand that Orsys has a special course dedicated to this subject, but that doesn't mean that it shouldn't be approached in a simple way, because backups are a fundamental part of administration.

During the first two days, we spent too much time on basic subjects because some of the training did not meet the skills prerequisites. This meant that we had to spend less time on more complex subjects.

For 3 days, the content could contain more administration elements (replication / cluster etc...) The debugging of requests being a specific mission could be dealt with in a dedicated module, and thus have more advanced practical sessionsMore practical sessions, even short ones, would be a plusThe support is very succinct and does not contain all the information transmitted orally, so you have to write down the important information next to it, and merge it afterwards, which is not very practica

A brief comment on the explanation of the lab setup... although it was culturally interesting, it was a bit off-topic. (at the start of the course)The presenter knows his subject inside out, and our group had a hard time challenging him (even though we asked him a lot of trick questions).
