This course is aimed at system administrators and architects who want to get to grips with the VMware vSphere 8 and vCenter 8 software suites quickly.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of Windows and/or Linux administration is required.

3 Virtual network management
- Standard and distributed switches.

- Advanced network configuration (security, traffic management, teaming management).

4 Virtual storage management
- Different storage protocols.
- SAN FC & iSCSI, NAS, NVMe storage.
- Virtual Volumes and Virtual SAN.

5 Virtual Machine (VM) creation, deployment and administration
- VM components, virtual hardware version 20.
- VM creation, cloning, deletion, snapshots.
- Cold and hot migrations, vMotion enhancements.
- Template creation and management.
- Content libraries, Ovf and Ova templates.
- Virtual hardware management: Thin & thick provisioning, VMDirectPath.
- Raw Device Mapping.
- Replications.
Hands-on work
VM creation, clones, templates, snapshots, replications.
6 High availability and service continuity
- High-availability cluster management.
- VM fault tolerance with VMware Fault Tolerance.
Hands-on work
Manage the high availability of the virtual infrastructure.
7 Monitoring and managing resource use
- Manage VM resources (shares, limits, reservations).
- Load balancing within the computing cluster.
- Resource pools.
- Technologies for optimizing processor and memory utilization.
- Performance monitoring.
- Infrastructure monitoring with alarms.
- Update management with VMware Lifecycle Manager.

The content is dense over 4 days and the 5th day is too light, sometimes difficult to follow remotely (connections, sound problems, attention...), the practical documents contain errors. In my opinion, this training must be given face-to-face for better participation, better exchanges and therefore easier and quicker understanding.

The experts leading the training are specialists in the covered subjects. They have been approved by our instructional teams for both their professional knowledge and their teaching ability, for each course they teach. They have at least five to ten years of experience in their field and hold (or have held) decision-making positions in companies.
ASSESSMENT TERMS
The trainer evaluates each participant’s academic progress throughout the training using multiple choice, scenarios, hands-on work and more.
Participants also complete a placement test before and after the course to measure the skills they’ve developed.
TERMS AND DEADLINES
Registration must be completed 24 hours before the start of the training.
