The project
Learn how to use Microsoft Power BI and SharePoint

The need
Office 365 collaborative tools have been rolled out across the company to support the group's digital transformation.

Microsoft Power BI and SharePoint are available to all SNCF Group employees to help them process and highlight data and facilitate collaborative work.

To help its teams get to grips with these tools and enable them to make the most of them, the SNCF has set up a training programme.

Why did you choose ORSYS?
For two main reasons.
Firstly, because these courses were in the ORSYS catalogue with a programme that met our needs.

Secondly, because the SNCF had already signed a framework agreement with ORSYS.

ORSYS was then able to contextualise the content to meet our expectations as closely as possible.

Project timeline
Four years ago, École numérique added two ORSYS training courses to its internal catalogue:
  • one on the Power BI data analysis and visualisation tool
  • the other on the SharePoint teamworking solution.

Dedicated face-to-face sessions have been planned for SNCF teams in 12 towns in France
New dates were quickly added to meet the very high demand for training in these areas.

And since 2020, as a result of the health crisis, the training courses have also been extended to include distance learning.
The sessions are held in small groups - 6 to 8 participants maximum – to optimise learning and comply with health protocols.

As the weeks go by, and in response to feedback from participants, the training courses have been divided into three levels (from beginner to expert) to adapt perfectly to the level of knowledge and expertise of the trainees.

In four years, more than 8,000 learners have been trained by a dedicated team of nine expert trainers.
