Teaching objectives
At the end of the training, the participant will be able to:
Understanding and assessing accessibility criteria
Know how to take accessibility into account at different stages of a web project
Cost and complexity indicators
Identify the challenges and key elements for successfully taking accessibility into account

Intended audience
Digital project managers, functional or technical directors, site or application managers, AMOA consultants.

Prerequisites
Experience in web project management. Basic knowledge of accessibility or knowledge equivalent to that acquired in the Digital Accessibility Awareness course (ref. ANU).

This highly interactive course is supported by extensive hands-on work on web projects.

Course schedule

Initiating the project

  • Accessibility regulations in France and abroad.
  • Taking accessibility into account in the public and private sectors, with a focus on standards (RGAA 4.0, WCAG 2.1...).
  • Assessment of in-house skills and need for external support.
  • Opportunity to use automatic tests.
  • Assessing the ability of technologies to manage accessibility.
  • Consultation file.
  • Analysis of responses and the ability of external service providers to meet accessibility needs.
Hands-on work
Discussions based on a consultation file.

Accessibility in functional and graphic design

  • Graphic and ergonomic accessibility rules.
  • Production or evaluation of a style guide/chart: recommendations for integration or development.
  • Evaluation and amendment of graphic layouts (legibility, presence of mandatory elements, contrasts, etc.)
  • Evaluation of prototypes for complex problems.
  • Taking into account feedback from use, the specificities of disability.
Hands-on work
Site accessibility audit.

Development follow-up and acceptance

  • Impact of development quality on accessibility.
  • Accessibility requirements for development.
  • Use the methods recommended by the RGAA.
  • Audit templates in compliance with RGAA: document structure, navigation, content publications.
  • Organize external acceptance testing to guarantee RGAA-compliant content.
  • The choice of accessibility revenue cycle.
  • Acceptance or refusal of delivery.
  • Declaration of conformity for public sites.
Hands-on work
Testing the accessibility of several sites on different terminals.

Content quality and points to watch

  • RGAA content quality.
  • Production of an editorial accessibility charter, using templates.
  • Accessibility of third-party content.
  • Putting content online.
  • Responsive web design, sites or applications based on software packages, mobile sites and applications.
  • WAI-ARIA, or the accessibility of rich interactive applications.
  • Specific features of agile projects.
  • Making existing buildings accessible. The cost of accessibility.
