Teaching objectives
At the end of the training, the participant will be able to:
Identify the different addictions and their symptoms to better spot them
Knowing the behaviors induced by these addictions
Understand the mechanisms behind addiction and its possible causes
Build a long-term relationship with the individual, taking into account his or her addictive behavior

Scope and challenges of managing addictive behavior

  • General approach to addictive behaviors and updating of knowledge in the field.
  • The concept of addiction, its causes and mechanisms.
  • Identify the main products or objects of addiction.
  • Notion of trajectory: dependence and loss of autonomy.
  • Specificities inherent in tobacco, alcohol, various drugs...
  • The specific consequences of psychoactive substance use during pregnancy.

  • Responding to psychological needs and the interpersonal relationship with the patient.
  • Creating the conditions for an effective therapeutic relationship.
  • Strategies for detecting problem drug use.
  • National indicators of good practice.

Multidisciplinary support for people with addictive behaviors

  • Relation d’aide et conduite d’entretien auprès de personnes présentant des conduites addictives.
