Teaching objectives
At the end of the training, the participant will be able to:
Identify key moments in the relationship with families
Establish the conditions for a favorable relational climate
Creating a climate of trust with families and users
Involving families in the project and life of the facility
Identify and analyze relational situations that are sources of tension with families and users

Course schedule

Set the framework for the relationship and the role of each player in the patient's life.

  • Understand each other's representations and expectations.
  • Measure the impact of the triangular relationship between the care team, the user and the family on care.
  • Distinguish the complementarities and limits of each player.
  • Moving into a nursing home: a pivotal stage in the relationship with families.
  • Practice active listening and assertiveness in relationships.
Hands-on work
Discussions and role-playing on different situations involving families and/or caregivers.

Establishing a relationship that promotes the therapeutic alliance

  • Formalize everyone's place and role.
  • Apply the principles of the therapeutic alliance.
  • Identify and use available tools (personalized project, welcome booklet, CVS, etc.).
  • Identify critical situations and prevent conflicts with families.
  • Building support with the family.
Role-playing
Role-playing and discussion of different situations encountered by participants.
