Intended audience
Oracle database administrators (18c to 23ai), application administrators, system administrators and consultants.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of Oracle DBMS administration. Or knowledge equivalent to that provided by the course "Oracle, DBMS administration" (ref. ORC). Experience required.
Course schedule
1 Introduction and reminders
- Automated installation via response file.
- Application of patches.
- Create and manage basic services.
Hands-on work
Create a service and a service start trigger.
2 EM and other tools
- Remote listener and connection filtering.
- EM Cloud Control, EM Database Express and SQL Developer.
- Network compression configuration.
Hands-on work
Configure and start a remote database. Manage databases with EM.
3 Shared architecture
- Creation of a CDB container base.
- Create, clone and delete a PDB database.
- Move a PDB from one CDB container to another.
- Manage tablespaces, users and privileges.
Hands-on work
Move a PDB base to a CDB container.
4 Resource Manager
- Database Resource Manager configuration.
- Create a new resource allocation plan.
- Pool of active sessions and maximum execution time.
- Create groups of resource consumers.
- Manage resources between PDBs.

5 Task scheduling with dbms_scheduler
- Jobs, Programs and Schedules.
- Advanced Oracle Scheduler concepts: classes and windows.
- Oracle Scheduler administration.

Creation of dbms_scheduler jobs and programs.
6 Advanced monitoring
- Automatic Diagnostic repository and ADRCI.
- Draw DDL orders.
- Set alert thresholds and use alerts.
- Implement unified audit strategies.
- Monitor database operations.
- Blackout protection.
- Monitoring space usage and storage structures.
Hands-on work
Setting up an audit strategy.
7 Grid Infrastructure (ASM)
- ASM architecture, features and installation.
- Instance and disk group management.
- Oracle Restart.
Exercise
DB migration to ASM.
8 Partitioning and data storage
- Partitioning by interval, system, virtual column, reference and composite.
- Partitioned table management.
- Automatic data movement and compression.
Exercise
Create partitioned tables/indexes. Automatically move and compress tables and partitions.

They have been approved by our instructional teams for both their professional knowledge and their teaching ability, for each course they teach. They have at least five to ten years of experience in their field and hold (or have held) decision-making positions in companies.
ASSESSMENT TERMS
The trainer evaluates each participant’s academic progress throughout the training using multiple choice, scenarios, hands-on work and more.
Participants also complete a placement test before and after the course to measure the skills they’ve developed.
TERMS AND DEADLINES
Registration must be completed 24 hours before the start of the training.
