Teaching objectives
At the end of the training, the participant will be able to:

Mastering project creation and importing sources
Produce a montage with splices and clip cuts
Composing montages with different audio sources and titling elements
Export montages for distribution

Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of digital editing. Experience with a consumer video editing application desirable.

  • Definition of a general production flow.
  • Definition of the technical characteristics of a video.
  • Basic theoretical approach to assembly.
Hands-on work
Discussion of production workflows. Analysis of the characteristics of supplied video images and examples of online videos.

  • Organization of work files.
  • Importing sources.
  • Pre-assembly reading.

Create a project and import video sources.

Assembly techniques and tools

  • Tools for selecting, deleting and moving planes.
  • Working on connections and trimming plans (trim).
  • Clip cutting.

Handling editing tools in the timeline.

Audio editing and mixing

  • Audio level adjustment.
  • Use of different types of audio (music, speech...).
  • Use advanced audio tools.

Mixing in the timeline with several sound tracks (voice-over, music, etc.).

Transformations and effects

  • Mastery of transformation tools (position, scale, cropping, etc.).
  • Putting transitions into practice.
  • Create panorama and zoom effects.
  • Set the speed of a shot.

Modify values in the transform tool, add effects and transitions to an element. Manipulate the speed of video elements (accelerated, slow motion).
