This training program alternates between content presentation, professional scenarios, role-playing and pedagogical sharing.

Misconceptions and epidemiology

  • Know the terminology used.
  • Understand the epidemiological context worldwide and in France.
  • Identify psychosocial and psychiatric risk factors.
  • Distinguish between populations at risk.
Hands-on work
Discussions on the myths and realities of suicidal crises. Quiz on risk factors. Analysis of an example from the field.

The crisis model: equilibrium, vulnerability, crisis

  • Understanding the crisis process.
  • Distinguish between different types of crisis: psychosocial, psychopathological, psychotraumatic.
  • Analyze the link between crisis and psychopathology: depression, psychoses, neuroses, borderline states, etc.
  • Apply the diagnostic criteria of the characterized depressive state to assess suicidal risk in the elderly patient.
Hands-on work
Case scenarios based on videos or participants' own situations. Assessment of suicidal risk in patients.

Assessing the suicidal potential of elderly patients

  • Understanding the difficulties of assessing the suicidal potential of an elderly patient: concept and method.
  • Apply the triple assessment of suicidal potential: risk, urgency and danger.
  • Identify suicidal elderly people through specific signs and symptoms.
