Teaching objectives
At the end of the training, the participant will be able to:
Identify the strengths and areas for improvement in an existing training program
Ensure consistency among objectives, activities, expected evidence, evaluations, and success criteria
Design a clear, engaging lesson plan that is tailored to on-site constraints
Modernize teaching materials and activities to promote active learning and the application of knowledge in the workplace
Regulate a group’s energy and adapt one’s approach to the situations encountered
Use generative AI to examine, enrich, challenge, and improve your systems within a controlled environment

Intended audience
In-house or external trainers, consultant-trainers, subject-matter experts tasked with sharing their expertise, instructional leaders, and experienced occasional trainers seeking to professionalize their practices with the support of AI.

Prerequisites
Knowledge of basic techniques for preparing and facilitating a training session

Practical details
Practical exercises are directly based on the participants’ existing training to ensure immediate application. AI is utilized at every stage as a tool for diagnosis, inquiry, challenge, production support, and continuous improvement. Special attention is given to the design and thoughtful automation of assessments, including quizzes, checklists, questionnaires, and post-training follow-up tools. The program alternates between methodological instruction, demonstrations, hands-on workshops, and analyses of current practices.

Course schedule

1
Assess and Enhance Your Instructional Design Using AI Tools

  • Identify the level of pedagogical maturity of an existing training program.
  • Analyze the client's request, the learners' needs, and operational constraints.
  • Use Bloom's taxonomy, supported by AI, to formulate and calibrate learning objectives.
  • Create an alignment matrix linking objectives, activities, expected evidence, evaluations, and success criteria.
  • Use AI to analyze a sequence, identify blind spots, and prioritize improvements.
Hands-on work
Individual self-assessment of a training program, ideally conducted by each participant. Analysis of a complex request. Reformulation of instructional objectives. Development of an alignment matrix applied to a real-world lesson sequence. Use of specific prompts to challenge one’s own assessment. Group presentation with feedback from the trainer.

2
Designing Engaging Learning Paths with the Help of AI

  • Structure and design a dynamic and engaging instructional sequence, using AI to generate variations and test progress.
  • Adapt a lesson plan for in-person, synchronous distance learning, or a hybrid format.
  • Challenge scenarios, activities, and assessments using generative AI, without delegating pedagogical decision-making.
  • Ensuring the Safe Use of AI: Privacy, Content Verification, Bias, Copyright, and Human Validation.
Hands-on work
: Workshop on redesigning an existing module. Guided prompting exercises to analyze a sequence, enhance activities, and test variations. Comparison of AI-generated output versus human expertise. Group debrief on best practices for professional use.

3
Modernizing Educational Materials and Activities with AI

  • Design visual materials that are clear, easy to read, and focused on the essentials.
  • Apply the principles of cognitive load, signaling, and information prioritization.
  • Distinguish between presentation materials, learning resources, and post-training reference guides.
  • Write clear instructions that include expected deliverables, a timeline, and success criteria.
  • Create a variety of activities by using AI to generate scenarios and provide a library of examples that can be adapted.
Hands-on work
Critical analysis of existing materials. AI-assisted redesign of a slideshow or learning resource. Creation of a structured educational activity with AI-generated variations. Design of a mini-formative assessment. Peer feedback among participants.

4
Strengthen your facilitation skills and manage the group's energy

  • Adopt a facilitator role that promotes psychological safety, engagement, and participation.
  • Use questioning, active listening, paraphrasing, and follow-up questions.
  • Understanding group dynamics: withdrawal, fragmentation, tension, over-expertise, demotivation, or loss of meaning.
  • Regulate the group's energy in real time without overcontrolling the dynamics.
  • Training with AI as a simulation partner.
  • Use gamification techniques to achieve a specific educational goal.
Hands-on work
Role-playing exercises in small groups on sensitive situations, with advance preparation by a specialized training team portraying challenging learner profiles. Observed 8- to 10-minute micro-sessions. Use of a peer observation rubric. Transforming top-down content into an engaging activity. Structured feedback from the group and the trainer.

5
Assess learning outcomes and ensure their transfer to the workplace

  • Distinguish between diagnostic, formative, and summative assessment based on the intended objectives.
  • Develop measurable indicators of success during and after the training.
  • Design quizzes, case studies, observation checklists, role-playing exercises, and action plans.
  • Use AI to speed up the design of post-training assessments and questionnaires.
  • Use participant feedback to continuously improve future sessions.
Hands-on work
Custom development of a targeted assessment tool. Design of a competency observation rubric. AI-assisted design of a post-training questionnaire and its analysis rubric. Drafting of a 30-day action plan. Group summary of commitments to improvement.
