1 Data module" functions
- Data module concept.
- Différences entre data module et "Framework Manager".
- Administration.
Hands-on work
Navigate the IBM Cognos Analytics 11 portal within folders containing data sources (package, data module, data set).
2 The different data sources used by data module and their settings
- Data server (SQL/NoSQL) and data module.
- Data set, flat file, package, cube.
Hands-on work
Create reports and dashboards with data from relational sources and data modules.
3 Modeling with the data module
- Modeling skills: concepts.
- Create joins.
- Link multiple data sources.
- Create simple and complex calculations.
- Create data groups.
Hands-on work
Create a data module and implement properties (typing, joins, calculations). Modeling concepts.
4 In-memory with the data set
- Concepts.
- Compatible data sources.
- Data refresh.
- Data set functionalities.
Hands-on work
Create reports and dashboards with data from heterogeneous sources (in-memory).

Beginners, intermediates and advanced users of IBM Cognos.
PREREQUISITES
Some knowledge of the tools in the IBM Cognos Analytics 11 suite.
TRAINER QUALIFICATIONS
The experts leading the training are specialists in the covered subjects. They have been approved by our instructional teams for both their professional knowledge and their teaching ability, for each course they teach. They have at least five to ten years of experience in their field and hold (or have held) decision-making positions in companies.
ASSESSMENT TERMS
The trainer evaluates each participant’s academic progress throughout the training using multiple choice, scenarios, hands-on work and more.
Participants also complete a placement test before and after the course to measure the skills they’ve developed.
TERMS AND DEADLINES
Registration must be completed 24 hours before the start of the training.
