Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of PowerApps equivalent to that obtained during the practical course (OFA). Minimum programming experience.
Practical details
Hands-on work
Alternating presentation of concepts and practical work.
Teaching methods
30% lessons and 70% practice with exercises. Personalized follow-up and correction.
Course schedule
1 Managing data
- Understanding delegation and collections.
- Join collections and tables.
- Check existence of data. Retrieve data with code. Update data.
- Create/modify records, delete data.
Hands-on work
Format, filter and sort data with PowerApps. Define a join in PowerApps. Exposing a collection via tables and galleries. Manipulate collections.
2 Image manipulation
- Store images. Store images in Excel. Store images in SQL Server.
- Store images in Dataverse.
- Handling images in PowerApps.
- Manage cameras. Use stylus, barcodes and microphone.
Hands-on work
Capture a photo with PowerApps. Using the electronic stylus.
3 Using graphics
- Learn about the types of graphics in PowerApps.
- Create a graph.
- Versioning an application.
- Group graph data. Define chart properties.
Hands-on work
Create a graph. Group data by criteria. Define legend.
4 Geolocate device
- Use Google Maps and Microsoft Maps.
- Understanding device geolocation.
- Discover how GPS works.
- Understand the role of signals. Handling signals.
Hands-on work
Display a personalized, geolocalized Microsoft Bing map.
5 Use the common data service (Dataverse)
- Components, Dataverse.
- Entity, field, option group, relationship, key.
- Manage Dataverse entity authorizations.
- User interface, application, sitemap, forms, views.
Hands-on work
Create entities and fields. Obtain data from Excel. Link two entities. Create a business rule. Create a Power Apps canvas with Dataverse.
6 Model-based application
- Link to Dataverse, components, features, environment.
- Dataverse database, model-based application, application based on an existing model.
- Manage Dataverse entity authorizations.
- User interface, application, sitemap, forms, views.
Hands-on work
Create an enterprise Power Apps application, Design the sitemap, Configure the entity view and central dashboard, Run and share a model-driven application.

The experts leading the training are specialists in the covered subjects. They have been approved by our instructional teams for both their professional knowledge and their teaching ability, for each course they teach. They have at least five to ten years of experience in their field and hold (or have held) decision-making positions in companies.
ASSESSMENT TERMS
The trainer evaluates each participant’s academic progress throughout the training using multiple choice, scenarios, hands-on work and more.
Participants also complete a placement test before and after the course to measure the skills they’ve developed.
TERMS AND DEADLINES
Registration must be completed 24 hours before the start of the training.
