This course will introduce you to the essential elements of production management. It will show you how to implement it, monitor performance using relevant indicators and improve productivity.

Discover production management
Understand the fundamentals of production management and its history.
Understand the challenges of production management: just-in-time, inventory and service rates.
Distinguish between types of industrial process: continuous, batch.
Storyboarding workshops
Study of participants' testimonials and experiences.

Describe the production process
Draw up a process map.
Distinguish between material and information flows.
Calculate capacity and loads.
Identify ways of influencing capacity and load.
Calculate synthetic and total rates of return.
Implement the three key concepts of effective management: availability, performance and quality.
Exercise
Perform simple calculations to put concepts into practice on a production flow.

Managing inventory
Understand the roles and types of inventory in production.
Classify stocks to distinguish them.
Manage inventory costs.
Calculate the optimum economic order quantity.
Monitor physical inventory management.
Exercise
Practical illustration with calculation exercises.

Production planning
Understand the different levels of planning (SOP, MPS, net requirement calculations), make forecasts.
Distinguish between production management levels: plans and net requirements.
Discover ERP.
Understand technical data: parts lists, product sheets, operating ranges, etc.
Scheduling and load smoothing.
Monitor achievements.
Exercise
Calculations and interpretations based on examples.

Implement reflex, visual and supermarket sourcing.
Implement Kanban.
Synchronize procurement or management with MRP.
Manage the pull method of supply with suppliers.
Develop unit flow, SMED.

TRAINER QUALIFICATIONS
The experts leading the training are specialists in the covered subjects. They have been approved by our instructional teams for both their professional knowledge and their teaching ability, for each course they teach. They have at least five to ten years of experience in their field and hold (or have held) decision-making positions in companies.
ASSESSMENT TERMS
The trainer evaluates each participant’s academic progress throughout the training using multiple choice, scenarios, hands-on work and more.
Participants also complete a placement test before and after the course to measure the skills they’ve developed.
TEACHING AIDS AND TECHNICAL RESOURCES • The main teaching aids and instructional methods used in the training are audiovisual aids, documentation and course material, hands-on application exercises and corrected exercises for practical training courses, case studies and coverage of real cases for training seminars.
• At the end of each course or seminar, ORSYS provides participants with a course evaluation questionnaire that is analysed by our instructional teams.
• A check-in sheet for each half-day of attendance is provided at the end of the training, along with a course completion certificate if the trainee attended the entire session.
TERMS AND DEADLINES
Registration must be completed 24 hours before the start of the training.
