Introducing Qlik Sense

  • Qlik Sense at a glance.
  • Qlik Sense versus QlikView.
  • Architecture of a Qlik Sense application.
  • User interface navigation: hub, sheet mode, story mode.
  • Data manager.
  • Data loading editor.
  • Data model viewer.
Hands-on work
Guided handling of an existing application: selection types, sheet navigation. Presentation of the different graphic objects available.

Data manipulation via script

  • Create a connection and add data.
  • Script syntax: control instruction, prefix and variable.
  • How to optimize application performance?
  • Association of tables via Join and Keep statements.
  • Use of MAPPING and INTERVALMATCH instructions.
  • Using Qlik data files (QVD)
  • Demonstration: example of a star model.
Hands-on work
Implementing associations (Join and Keep). Use MAPPING and INTERVALMATCH. Creating and using data (QVD).

Data visualization

  • Creation of visualizations and different types of use.
  • Measurements and dimensions.
  • Use of expressions and variables in graphics.
  • Advanced use of analysis sets.
  • Setting up a geographical map.
Hands-on work
Advanced visualization creation, mapping, advanced use of "set analysis", expressions and variables.

  • Publication of applications, sheets, stories...

  • Security management: data reduction and restriction.
