Intended audience
Anyone responsible for deploying operating systems and applications.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of Windows 2012, 2008 or 2003 server administration. Experience desirable.
Course schedule
1 Installation
- Presentation: Lite Touch (LTI), Zero Touch (ZTI), MDT Solution Accelerator.
- Introduction of WAIK and WADK.
Hands-on work
Install ADK, MDT on server (or client OS). Add operating systems, applications, packages and drivers.
2 Automating MDT interfaces
- Different sequences (standard client TS, sysprep).
- Automation of various windows (authentication, TimeZone, languages).
Hands-on work
Creation of an LTI Task Sequence (Standard Client Task Sequence), customization of configuration files (bootstrap.ini, Customsettings.ini).
3 OS automation
- Customize a scenario (modify partitions, add a PowerShell script).
- Windows 7 and 8.1 client OS deployment.
- Add applications, drivers, updates.
- Create a WIM model image.
Hands-on work
Automation of a 2012 R2 server with installation of AD DS, DNS and DHCP, addition of UO and User creation scripts in AD. Automate a client workstation by adding drivers and applications.
4 Linking a WDS deployment server to MDT
- Configure a WDS server.
- Litetouch.wim boot image added to WDS.
- Profile creation, use of application bundles.
- Configuration of a deployment scenario to VHD.
- Install multiple PCs according to MAC addresses (modify customsettings.ini).
Hands-on work
Launch PXE boot, install two PCs with different preconfigurations without user interaction. Create profiles integrating drivers, OS and applications.
5 MDT with database
- Install and configure SQL Express in MDT.
- Use and test the database.
Hands-on work
Inject computers into the database using a CSV file and a PowerShell script. Install two workstations (differentiated by GUID) from the database with two different roles.
6 Diagnosis and problem-solving
- Problem-solving methodology.
- Common problems.
- Log analysis.
- Activate MDT monitor.
Hands-on work
Analyzing variables and logs to optimize MDT. Use the MDT monitor.

They have at least five to ten years of experience in their field and hold (or have held) decision-making positions in companies.
ASSESSMENT TERMS
The trainer evaluates each participant’s academic progress throughout the training using multiple choice, scenarios, hands-on work and more.
Participants also complete a placement test before and after the course to measure the skills they’ve developed.

Registration must be completed 24 hours before the start of the training.
