Have already installed WordPress. PHP or programming skills.
Practical details
Hands-on work
Study and creation of concrete case studies for the development of a professional website.
Teaching methods
Individual practice, case studies with a professional WordPress user and pedagogy guide the learner towards deepening their WordPress skills.
Course schedule
1 Hosting
- Analysis of the installation procedure.
- The database, the wp-config file.
- Difference between remote and local installation.
Hands-on work
Local WordPress installation. Configuration file and database analysis. Preparation of a remote location.
2 How themes work
- Theme files.
- Template hierarchy.
- Files included.
- The loop.
- The loop query (WP_QUERY), multiple queries.
Hands-on work
Template modification. Path analysis (TEMPLATEPATH, bloginfo...), study of get_header(), get_sidebar(), get_footer functions. Use in a test. Use in a template.
3 Theme creation
- Menu management.
- Widget management.
- Sample page.
- Children's theme.
Hands-on work
Add content, create page templates and child themes. Customization of admin to site charter.
4 The different contents
- Articles/Pages/Links reminder.
- Introduction to the WordPress Codex. The developer portal.
- Custom fields.
- Shortcodes.
- Custom_post_type.
- Taxonomy.
Hands-on work
Creating and using custom fields. Create a youtube shortcode and a new data type. Create associated taxonomies.
5 Extensions and Widgets
- Notion of hook. How it works.
- Extensions. Analysis of the Hello dolly extension.
- Widgets. Analysis of how they work.
Hands-on work
Analyse de quelques hooks. Création d'un espace réservé aux abonnés. Création d'une extension de gestion des abonnés.
Création d'un widget, intégration dans la sidebar, et dans le code PHP.
6 Various technical aspects
- Preview of .htaccess file.
- Search engine optimization (URL rewriting, metas, sitemaps, google analytics, etc.).
- Analysis of an HTML5-compatible theme (Bones, HTML5 Blanks...).

Options
Certification : 80 € HT
La certification TOSA® atteste pour une durée de 3 ans des compétences de l’apprenant sur une échelle de 1 000 points. Le diplôme TOSA® est envoyé si le score de l’apprenant est supérieur à 551 points.
Une fois l’examen réalisé, l’apprenant peut consulter en direct ses résultats et reçoit par e-mail une attestation, une restitution détaillée de ses compétences ainsi que son diplôme sous 5 jours.
L’examen dure 1 H 00 et se présente sous la forme de 35 exercices alternant entre des manipulations sur le logiciel et des QCM, dont la difficulté s’adapte selon les réponses de l’apprenant.
Sans demande spécifique, il est dispensé par défaut en français et sur la version logicielle la plus récente. La surveillance est faite par un logiciel et est enregistrée à des fins de contrôle de conformité.
The certification option comes in the form of a voucher or invitation that will allow you to take the exam at the end of the training course.

TRAINER QUALIFICATIONS
The experts leading the training are specialists in the covered subjects. They have been approved by our instructional teams for both their professional knowledge and their teaching ability, for each course they teach. They have at least five to ten years of experience in their field and hold (or have held) decision-making positions in companies.
ASSESSMENT TERMS
The trainer evaluates each participant’s academic progress throughout the training using multiple choice, scenarios, hands-on work and more.
Participants also complete a placement test before and after the course to measure the skills they’ve developed.
TERMS AND DEADLINES
Registration must be completed 24 hours before the start of the training.
