1 Operating system deployment
- System deployment terminology.
- Deployment concepts.
- SCCM architecture used for deployment.
- Different installation scenarios (new system, refresh, replacement).
Hands-on work
Preparing the infrastructure for operating system deployments.
2 Management of boot and installation images and device drivers
- WinPE overview.
- Customize startup images.
- Management of Windows 10 installation and upgrade images.
- Maintenance of installation images (system image packages and upgrade packages).
- SCCM configuration.
- Import and manage drivers.
- Using drivers in task sequences.
Hands-on work
Create and customize startup images for SCCM.
3 User State Migration Tool
- How USMT works.
- Integration with state migration point.
- Use of USMT in task sequences.
Hands-on work
Recover user data from a source machine and restore it on a target machine.
4 Offline image maintenance
- How offline maintenance works.
- Add drivers, Windows updates, features and language packs.
- Overview of SCCM, WSUS and Windows logs used to deploy software updates.
- Troubleshooting server-side and client-side automatic deployment rules.
Hands-on work
Troubleshooting an automatic deployment rule, client-side troubleshooting.
5 Deploying task sequences
- Task sequences.
- Use of variables.
- Customize task sequences for upgrade and refresh deployments.
- Dynamic application installation.
- Use of user and computer affinities.
- Creation of prepared and stand-alone media.
- Deployment troubleshooting.
- Using the console and reports for monitoring.
Hands-on work
Deployment of a Build & Capture task sequence and a Windows 10 upgrade task sequence in PXE.

The experts leading the training are specialists in the covered subjects. They have been approved by our instructional teams for both their professional knowledge and their teaching ability, for each course they teach. They have at least five to ten years of experience in their field and hold (or have held) decision-making positions in companies.
ASSESSMENT TERMS
The trainer evaluates each participant’s academic progress throughout the training using multiple choice, scenarios, hands-on work and more.
Participants also complete a placement test before and after the course to measure the skills they’ve developed.
TERMS AND DEADLINES
Registration must be completed 24 hours before the start of the training.
