Systems and network technicians, Windows administrators.
Prerequisites
Good knowledge of installation and administration of Windows workstations (10, 8, 7 or Vista) and of TCP/IP management under Windows.
Course schedule
1 Deployment tools
- Presentation of different tools (ADK, MDT, etc.).
- The technologies (WIM format, etc.) used to deploy Windows 10.
- Generate the reference computer.
2 User State Migration Tool (USMT)
- Preparing the environment for migration.
- Using ScanState.
- Using Windows Easy Transfer (migwiz).
Hands-on work
Migrate a profile from Windows to Windows.
3 Creating custom Windows 10 images
- Customize a template image using WADK.
- Deployment Image Servicing and Management. Driver and package management.
- Install and configure ADK. Deploy Windows 10 with the new tools.
- Create an image with ImageX. Customize a WIM image. Deploy Windows 10 with ImageX.
- Create a WIM image from a sample system. Deploy using Boot VHD.
- WIM to VHD image conversion.
Hands-on work
Create and customize Windows 10 WIM images.
4 Windows PE customizations
- Create WinPE boot media. Test WinPE.
- Integration of specific drivers with drvload.
- Adding packages to WinPE with PEimg.
Hands-on work
Create a WinPE bootable CD. Customize WinPE. Add scripts to WinPE.
5 Windows Deployment Services (WDS)
- Install WDS and use images with WDS.
- Multicast implementation.
- Targeting of drivers corresponding to customer hardware.
Hands-on work
Installation and configuration of a WDS deployment solution.
6 Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT)
- MDT features. Setting up an LTI deployment. Create a task sequence.
- Creating a deployment image. Scripts.
- Lite Touch and Zero Touch deployment with MDT.
Hands-on work
Implementing a Lite Touch scenario with MDT.
7 Activation management
- Activation model selection. Active Directory-based activation.
- Assign multiple activation keys (MAK). Deploy key management services (KMS).
- License activation tools.
- Request activation status.
- Inventory the environment with VAMT.

Systems and network technicians, Windows administrators.
PREREQUISITES
Good knowledge of installation and administration of Windows workstations (10, 8, 7 or Vista) and of TCP/IP management under Windows.
TRAINER QUALIFICATIONS
The experts leading the training are specialists in the covered subjects. They have been approved by our instructional teams for both their professional knowledge and their teaching ability, for each course they teach. They have at least five to ten years of experience in their field and hold (or have held) decision-making positions in companies.
ASSESSMENT TERMS
The trainer evaluates each participant’s academic progress throughout the training using multiple choice, scenarios, hands-on work and more.
Participants also complete a placement test before and after the course to measure the skills they’ve developed.

Registration must be completed 24 hours before the start of the training.
