  • A reminder of the basics of the Web.
  • History of HTML up to HTML5.
  • The three basic types: HTML elements, tags and attributes.
  • The Doctype.
Demonstration
View HTML5 page source code. Introducing the W3C validator.

The structure of an HTML document

  • The <head>. The <body>.
  • Semantic and generic tags.
  • Attributes.
Exercise
Discover the typical structure of an HTML document and the tags that make it up. Build the basic structure of a document.

The HTML document header

  • The <title> tag.
  • The <meta> " description " and " http-equiv ".
  • The <link>, <script> and <style> tags.
  • Encoding. Mime type.
Exercise
Construction of the document's <head>. Overview of the <title> and <méta> ", description of an HTML page in a search engine results page (Google).

The body of an HTML document

  • Semantic tags: <header>,<footer>,<main>,<section>,<nav>,<article>
  • Block tags: <h>,<p>,<ul>,<li>,<div>...
