Detecting suicidal potential in elderly patients.
Helping elderly patients deal with their psychological suffering to avoid suicidal acts
Recognize the importance of your role in suicide prevention
Conducting interviews and intervening effectively in crisis situations

This training program alternates between content presentation, professional scenarios, role-playing and pedagogical sharing.

Misconceptions and epidemiology
Know the terminology used.
Understand the epidemiological context worldwide and in France.
Identify psychosocial and psychiatric risk factors.
Distinguish between populations at risk.
Hands-on work
Discussions on the myths and realities of suicidal crises. Quiz on risk factors. Analysis of an example from the field.

The crisis model: equilibrium, vulnerability, crisis
Understanding the crisis process.
Distinguish between different types of crisis: psychosocial, psychopathological, psychotraumatic.
Analyze the link between crisis and psychopathology: depression, psychoses, neuroses, borderline states, etc.
Apply the diagnostic criteria of the characterized depressive state to assess suicidal risk in the elderly patient.
Hands-on work
Case scenarios based on videos or participants' own situations. Assessment of suicidal risk in patients.

Assessing the suicidal potential of elderly patients
Understanding the difficulties of assessing the suicidal potential of an elderly patient: concept and method.
Apply the triple assessment of suicidal potential: risk, urgency and danger.
Identify suicidal elderly people through specific signs and symptoms.

Understand everyone's role in dealing with suicidal seniors.

No special knowledge required.
TRAINER QUALIFICATIONS
The experts leading the training are specialists in the covered subjects. They have been approved by our instructional teams for both their professional knowledge and their teaching ability, for each course they teach. They have at least five to ten years of experience in their field and hold (or have held) decision-making positions in companies.
ASSESSMENT TERMS
The trainer evaluates each participant’s academic progress throughout the training using multiple choice, scenarios, hands-on work and more.
Participants also complete a placement test before and after the course to measure the skills they’ve developed.
TEACHING AIDS AND TECHNICAL RESOURCES • The main teaching aids and instructional methods used in the training are audiovisual aids, documentation and course material, hands-on application exercises and corrected exercises for practical training courses, case studies and coverage of real cases for training seminars.
• At the end of each course or seminar, ORSYS provides participants with a course evaluation questionnaire that is analysed by our instructional teams.
• A check-in sheet for each half-day of attendance is provided at the end of the training, along with a course completion certificate if the trainee attended the entire session.
